About the role

As an Accountant in our team, you will be responsible for accounting services in relation to the delivery of fund services to our portfolio of clients. You will manage an accounts assistant, and their respective workload, in their preparation of all relevant client deliverables. Fund services provided will include fund administration and fund management.

Key Role and Responsibilities on activities as follows:

  • Monitor and manage accounting operations on a quarterly basis for our funds and clients.
  • Review and generate routine financial reports for management and clients.
  • Review annual financial statements aligned with the fund year end.
  • Work with Auditors to execute annual audits.
  • Manage cash flow and expenses on a quarterly basis.
  • Review and preparation of Investor NAV reporting as appropriate.
  • Review and preparation of quarterly management accounts
  • Calculation of management fees/equalisation charges and performance fees ensuring the requirements of the key documentation (LPA/ PPM) are followed.
  • Respond to fund accounting inquiries and investor queries in a timely fashion.
  • Adhere to internal controls and procedures
  • Adhere to Service Level Agreement (internal and external).
  • Investigate, resolve and respond to ad-hoc operational requirements internal and external (verbal and in writing)
  • Provide information for the generation of communications to investors.
  • Review of AML/KYC.

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA or AAT; preferably with a top 20 accountancy firm) with working experience in accounting.
  • Experience managing other team members.
  • Strong accounting skills, ideally gained within a Fund Management or Fund Accounting business.
  • You will have a strong attention to detail with excellent client facing skills.
  • Strong competence and familiarity with relevant accounting software packages (Sage and Xero desirable), and with MS Office suite.
  • Highly organised with good time management and planning skills.
  • Ability to problem solve, with an inquisitive mind, and capable of being a trouble-shooter.
  • Highly productive, very delivery focused and adaptable to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner for our clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The capacity to propose positive change and improvements to processes and ways of working, coupled with the energy and enthusiasm to contribute toward the implementation.
