Thompson Taraz is proud to announce their sponsorship of the Enterprise Investment Scheme Association (EISA) Private Investment Research Project to help support the early stage ventures market through the current Covid-19 crisis.
EIS and SEIS schemes provide much needed finance to early stage companies and UK innovators, as well as offering attractive financial benefits to investors, but since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic fund managers have reported fundraising within EIS has fallen by more than 70%. The EISA research project will give a 360-degree view of the SME funding market, providing both qualitative and quantitative evidence of these schemes and their effectiveness. The data will then be used to lobby Government and HM Treasury ahead of the November budget to facilitate changes to these investment schemes.
Simon Webber, who works closely with ventures clients said: “At Thompson Taraz we think it’s vital that the government receives this data on early stage funding when they’re considering how best to re-energise the UK economy. It’s from these smaller, but fast growing, companies that much of the UK’s dynamism is derived.”
